30-day vegan challenge

I start this new year and a month by eating only vegetarian food. I’m taking part in the Facebook challenge, which is challenged to try vegetarians for a month. I will only choose vegetable-based foods and products for a month. I leave all the meaty food and the dairy products away. (Here is a link to the Facebook challenge: https://www.facebook.com/events/237920913412168/)

I have planned my eating routine and weeks in advance. This helps me plan my food shopping and do some shopping lists before I start a new week. I know that a vegetarian diet has good effects on the well-being of the planet and nature.

I want to eat food that has not suffered at all or have lived in tough conditions. Some animals must suffer and live in very small spaces. It doesn’t sound good. I don’t want to favor the intense production of animals and increase their suffering. Animals also feel and are aware of their situation. I don’t want to be part of it.

If I use meat products sometimes in the future, I want to favor organic products or products which have been raised in better environmental places. This is how I know at least that the animals have not suffered and have had a good life in the natural conditions.

My food plans for January

Week 1
– broad bean tortillas and salad
– vegan soup

Week 2
– lentil soup
– vegetable steaks, veggies, and sweet potato

Week 3
– pureed beetroot soup
– broad bean steaks and mashed potatoes

Week 4
– broad bean macaroni casserole
– avocado pasta

I can maybe share some good recipes here and share how the month goes on. I want to know and experience the effects of a vegetarian eating on well-being and feeling of life. I want to see how it’s effect on me and my healthy lifestyle. I enjoy all kind of fruits, vegetables, and plant-based foods very much, so this is not so hard thing to try out.

    1. Yes this is great way to try it for a month long period. It is not so hard, that I thought for the first time I think about it. 🙂 I have done multiple new recibes and foods already. And it has been only two week! 😊

    1. You can start by adding more fruits and vegetables in your dailu eating routine. That’s also good if you don’t want to do the 30 day challenge. 🙂 It is okay to do less if you make better choices.

  1. I tried similar eating habits not too long ago and I got to say, it is sometimes very hard! Although it was tough, my body felt great afterwards and it was much more healthy.

    1. Nice to hear. I think it’s important to hear yourself and what’s good for each other. 🙂 I am gonna write post about this month in february, how it went and what I notice in my body and feelings. 🙂

  2. A vegan kind of life, I wonder if I could take the same challenge as you are doing now. I love protein especially meat but I love vegies and fruits too. I guess I would need to take a lot of effort of just eating only vegies and fruits.

    1. It’s need some effort and time to read about what you should eat and avoid. Some products include dairy or meat, if you don’t read the labels in packacing. 🙂 Nice to hear that you think about it.
