I start this new year and a month by eating only vegetarian food. I’m taking part in the Facebook challenge, which is challenged to try vegetarians for a month. I will only choose vegetable-based foods and products for a month. I leave all the meaty food and the dairy products away. (Here is a link to the Facebook challenge: https://www.facebook.com/events/237920913412168/)
I have planned my eating routine and weeks in advance. This helps me plan my food shopping and do some shopping lists before I start a new week. I know that a vegetarian diet has good effects on the well-being of the planet and nature.
I want to eat food that has not suffered at all or have lived in tough conditions. Some animals must suffer and live in very small spaces. It doesn’t sound good. I don’t want to favor the intense production of animals and increase their suffering. Animals also feel and are aware of their situation. I don’t want to be part of it.
If I use meat products sometimes in the future, I want to favor organic products or products which have been raised in better environmental places. This is how I know at least that the animals have not suffered and have had a good life in the natural conditions.
My food plans for January
– broad bean tortillas and salad
– vegan soup
– lentil soup
– vegetable steaks, veggies, and sweet potato
– pureed beetroot soup
– broad bean steaks and mashed potatoes
– broad bean macaroni casserole
– avocado pasta
I can maybe share some good recipes here and share how the month goes on. I want to know and experience the effects of a vegetarian eating on well-being and feeling of life. I want to see how it’s effect on me and my healthy lifestyle. I enjoy all kind of fruits, vegetables, and plant-based foods very much, so this is not so hard thing to try out.
